Lea and Michael’s celebration at the Riggs Hotel was one of those events that felt special from the very beginning. When designing their custom wedding stationery, I wanted to create something that felt elegant but unexpected. Something that reflected their story and the unique nature of their day. Since the Riggs Hotel has such a strong visual identity, I drew from its textures, patterns, and moody lighting to influence the suite.

Designing for Depth and Texture

Each detail was carefully considered to feel cohesive with the couple’s aesthetic. The suede bar menus added a luxurious tactile element that guests couldn’t help but touch. I created custom dinner menus that subtly mirrored the Riggs Hotel headboard pattern, giving a quiet nod to the space without being too literal. Small touches, like napkins that matched Lea and Michael’s own matching tattoos, added a sentimental layer to the design.

The color story came together beautifully in person. Shades of olive green and dusty rose balanced the richness of the maroons and black accents throughout the dinner tables. The stationery pieces stood out against candlelight, while the textures caught the glow in just the right way.
