Our Favorite Escort and Seating Chart Moments From Weddings
One of my favorite parts of wedding design is creating escort and seating charts that feel personal to each couple. These pieces do more than tell guests where to sit, they set the tone for the evening and often become a centerpiece during cocktail hour. Every couple brings their own personality, and I love finding ways to turn that into something tangible and memorable. Below are some of my favorite seating chart projects I’ve created, each one reflecting the couple’s vision in a unique way.
The Flowing Linen Seating Chart
For Halli and James, I designed a large-scale linen seating chart that was both elegant and approachable. We wanted it to feel light and airy, almost like it was floating in the space. The size made it a bold statement piece, but the soft linen kept it welcoming. Guests loved how easy it was to read, and it set the stage for the romantic yet modern vibe of their celebration.
A Farmer’s Market Inspired Escort Display
Liz and Jon wanted something playful and completely on-brand for their wedding, so we designed an escort display inspired by a farmer’s market. Instead of traditional cards, guests found their names attached to baskets of fresh fruit. It was charming, colorful, and interactive. The best part was that guests could take the fruit home as a little treat, making the escort display double as a thoughtful favor. It was a joy to design something that felt so true to them.
Clean and Modern Minimalism
For Lauren and Garrett, we leaned into a modern and chic aesthetic. Their seating chart design focused on simplicity, with clean lines and understated textures. The look was elevated but not overdone, and it blended seamlessly with the rest of their wedding decor. I loved the way the minimal details highlighted the couple’s timeless style, giving guests an easy and stylish way to find their seats.
A Secret Garden Moment
Adaye and Liz’s wedding, which was featured on The Knot, gave me the chance to create one of the most romantic escort displays I’ve ever done. Their design included handmade paper escort cards handwritten in delicate script, displayed on acrylic panels. Behind the cards, we layered an excerpt from The Secret Garden, which brought a personal and whimsical touch. It felt like stepping into a storybook and perfectly matched the intimate garden setting.
Love Notes to Every Guest
Sarah and Hans had such a thoughtful vision for their seating chart. Instead of standard escort cards, we created envelopes with personal notes tucked inside for each guest. Every message was unique, filled with gratitude and love. Designing this display reminded me why I love creating custom wedding details. It was functional, but it also sparked emotion and connection. Guests were touched by the notes, and it gave the entire room such a warm energy.
Stephanie gould | custom wedding signage + details
Designing custom escort and seating charts is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Each piece becomes more than just signage. It’s a reflection of the couple, their story, and the celebration they want to share with their loved ones. Whether it’s a playful farmer’s market theme, a romantic garden design, or a modern minimalist look, I love turning those ideas into beautiful and meaningful details.
