An Heirloom Escort: Turning Your Love Story into Wedding Day Details
There’s something extra special about wedding details that feel like you. For one recent couple, the escort display wasn’t just a seating chart—it was an extension of their home they built together. They gathered sentimental objects, many of which held real meaning from their life together, and I helped letter names directly onto each piece. It felt like stepping into a cozy corner of their home!
Every Piece Told a Story
Instead of traditional paper escort cards, this couple got creative. They brought in a model sailboat, a painted paddle, a fish-shaped platter, and even a large glass jug—all with personal significance. Rather than being chosen for the sake of aesthetics alone, each piece was part of their love story.
So, we used them as the canvas! I hand-lettered the seating arrangements across these objects, giving each one purpose and presence. As a result, the display felt heirloom-worthy—like something you'd want to keep forever.
From Home to Their Wedding Day
What I loved most about this project was how seamlessly it tied their home into their wedding day. It didn’t feel overly styled or forced. In fact, it felt lived-in, familiar, and incredibly personal.
That’s the magic of using meaningful details. Not only do they look good—they feel good. They remind everyone (especially the couple!) what the day is truly about.
