A Ralph Lauren Experience at Hotel Burg with Custom Watercolor Trophies

When we set out to design this Ralph Lauren experience at Hotel Burg, I knew the details had to feel layered, intentional, and quietly luxurious. Because the vision centered around champion horses and timeless heritage style, every element needed to feel collected rather than trendy. And honestly, that is my favorite kind of design to create!

From the very beginning, the goal was to translate the spirit of Ralph Lauren into paper goods and tabletop moments that felt authentic. So instead of leaning into obvious branding, we focused on subtle nods to equestrian tradition, deep wood tones, and warm candlelight. As a result, the entire space felt like stepping into a private club tucked away in the countryside.

Watercolor Trophies as Place Cards for This Ralph Lauren Experience at Hotel Burg

One of my favorite details from this Ralph Lauren experience at Hotel Burg was the custom watercolor trophies. Instead of traditional place cards, each guest had a hand illustrated trophy at their seat. Because the theme celebrated champion horses, I suggested we design watercolor trophies that felt classic and refined.

Each trophy featured the guest’s name printed directly onto the illustration. Therefore, the place card became both a functional detail and a keepsake. The soft gold tones of the watercolor paired beautifully with the floral china and dark wood table. As the afternoon light hit the plates, the trophies almost glowed. It felt understated but special, which is exactly what a Ralph Lauren inspired evening should feel like.

Custom Black Ribbon Details

While the watercolor trophies carried the equestrian story, the glassware added another elevated layer. We wrapped black ribbon around the glasses and pressed the logo in vinyl directly onto the ribbon. Because the space at Hotel Burg Leesburg VA already has such rich, moody interiors, the black accents felt cohesive and dramatic without overpowering the design.

I love incorporating ribbon into tabletop design because it softens everything. However, the pressed vinyl logo kept it polished and intentional. Guests noticed the ribbons immediately, and several commented on how refined the table felt. Those subtle branding moments make such a difference.

Designing a Cohesive Ralph Lauren Experience at Hotel Burg

What I appreciated most about this Ralph Lauren experience at Hotel Burg was how every detail worked together. The dark wood tables, plaid textures, floral china, candlelight, and custom stationery all told the same story. Because we stayed consistent in tone and palette, nothing felt out of place.

As a designer, I am always thinking about how paper interacts with its environment. So when I create custom pieces like these watercolor trophies, I consider lighting, texture, and surrounding color. That extra layer of thought is what transforms simple place cards into a full design moment.

If you are dreaming of your own elevated, story driven event, I would absolutely love to design something custom for you. Whether it is heirloom quality place cards, watercolor illustrations, or fully bespoke paper goods, I am here to bring your vision to life. Let’s create something unforgettable together!
